REVIEW: I am not your typical girly-girl who likes to dress up and put makeup on, so I wasn’t sure if Contour by Meg Harding would be for me, but Meg’s wonderful characterizations and vibrant world make it easy to get enthralled in this story.
Jamie has a YouTube channel as Roxy – a gender-fluid diva with a gift for makeup. Tyler is a buff model with a huge Instagram following. Jamie has always been a fan of Tyler’s Insta posts and one day decides to make contact.
Tyler gets lots of lame messages from fans, but Jamie’s perks his interest and he replies – setting a path for a decidedly hot exchange!
Jamie has some baggage from a troubled childhood and unconventional upbringing which means he doesn’t do relationships. However, Tyler is making Jamie dream of a future he’s never imagined. Now Jamie is questioning everything he ever believed about relationships and - dare he even think it? - love.
Harding’s writing of the witty dialogue and descriptions of the online world both boys inhabit is alive with detail and sharp with humour. Contour is a real joy to read and hard to put down. I really enjoy both character’s personalities and the secondary characters make this read feel like you’re a part of the crowd.
It’s not often a story can make me tear up, laugh out loud and get all mushy so Meg can be proud that she’s in a rare group of authors to give me the magic three!
I’m hoping book two in this series isn’t too far away and I’ll definitely be looking up her other writings!
If you like puppies, makeup, social media or vacations – or even if they’re not your thing – I’m sure you’ll enjoy Contour – a fantastic read by Meg Harding.
