BLURB: One month before Twice The Hands To Hold takes off.

It's been nearly two decades of playing at being an adult, and Jake still isn't sure he has it down. Fake it till you make it, has always been his motto, and it got him and his nephews this far.

Yet he wasn't expecting a hurricane from his past to sweep over his structured, ordered life he's worked years to build for him and his boys.

It's taken Jake nearly this long to pick up the pieces Henry's abandonment left him with all those years ago. Life has not been easy, and it certainly was no fairytale. But what Jake has achieved, he's done so despite being left to fend for his family.

How can Jake allow one of the only two men he's ever loved back into his life?

The question is, how can he not?

REVIEW: The Weight Of Dust by Louis Stevens is the highly anticipated follow-up to Twice The Hands To Hold. It tells the story of Uncle Jake and Henry. Although it could easily be read as a stand alone, you will appreciate it more if you have read Twice The Hands To Hold, first.

See my review of Twice The Hands To Hold here.

Let me just start off by saying that Louis Stevens totally delivers in this one and the only negative is that it is too short!

Weight Of Dust takes place about a month prior to Twice the Hands and begins when Jake literally runs into his past while bailing on a going nowhere date.

From here Stevens takes you into the history of Jake and Henry’s relationship through emotional flashbacks, as the men begin to touch on the love they still harbor for one another, the loss they both feel and the need. The need for each other, the need for answers.

For Jake all of the hurt and loss returns in an instant and he is frightened to go back there, to expose himself and his heart. But, he can’t resist what he feels - what he has always felt for Henry.

Henry is determined to show Jake he has never stopped loving him and that he is invested in being here for him. “Let me take care of you now. Allow me to step up the way I should have all those years ago.”

When feelings, and bodies, are laid bare and the dust settles, the weight is lifted and results in a sizzling consummation.

The Weight Of Dust is a story of true love and the hurdles we must sometimes face to finally grasp it. Two men exposing themselves to the one person who has the power to hurt them as well as treasure them. In its simplest form it is a story of a timeless, unspoken, unforgettable love. It is a story of what happened to the one that got away!

I was given a copy of Weight Of Dust by the author, at no charge, in exchange for my fair and honest opinion.

LOUIS is a gay romance author born and raised in South Africa. He was a shy outcast who had few friends in school; generally feeling excluded and on the fringe of society. However, when he discovered gay romance and erotica in 2007, at the age of seventeen, his mind and world opened up. He wrote his first story, A Better Life, longhand in a 197 page spiral notebook, on his bed every night with a pillow curled under his chin. Although the book wouldn’t be published until 2011, with the now defunct Silver Publishing, he found the experience entirely liberating. He's considered himself a writer ever since.
