REVIEW:

I have to be honest. I was enticed to read Megs Pritchard’s Valentine’s Surprise because it was offered as a free Valentine short story and a first for the author (I’m a sucker for new authors). I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised.

At 25 pages I was expecting this to be a quick…..to the point read, but it was more.

As neither Isaac nor Stuart (Stu) were ready to reveal their sexual identity they shared a secret two year love affair. After leaving for job reasons Isaac never got over Stu. Now, two years later he has returned. For one thing only. To. Get. Stu. Back!

As Isaac goes to a club with friends, and sets his sites on Stu, it is not long before both men are walking out. Straight into each others arms, into bed and into their future.

Although, for me, the sex scene felt a little stunted at times, and there was a wee bit of repetitive kissing, there are some solid moments that very much work.

After all, what is more charming than humor during sex? *winks*

I marveled at where Pritchard’s was able to take Valentine’s Surprise in so few pages. Not only does she give a complete backstory with some delightful main characters, but she takes them from loss over what was, to desire to have it back, and ends with a passionate reclaiming. And she even manages to throw in a little anxiety at the end with a cute happily ever after.

If you are looking for a quick little inviting read you should pick this one up. I can honestly say that the allure of seeing what more Megs Pritchard has to offer (along with the sneak peek of her first novella, Awakening, at the end of this book) will have me scouting out more from her.

A copy of Valentine's Surprise was purchased by Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter in order that we might offer our fair and honest opinion on behalf of our readers.

Megs Pritchard lives in England and is a mother of two small boys. When she isn’t working or being a mummy, she is busy writing about complex characters that know the harsh realities of life but want a HEA.

A lover of M/M and M/F romances she believes everyone deserves to be happy, healthy and loved.

Growing up in a military family, Megs as traveled Europe and has a great deal of respect and gratitude for all the men and women who have and who still serve. Her dream job was to be a Bomb Disposal Expert and even had her own ‘kit’ when she was younger.
