Kimmers:

When I first learned that Kol Anderson was releasing an anniversary edition of his Prisoner series my mind immediately jumped to Louis Stevens.

Louis, being an established author in his own right, is well versed in the genre of dark and taboo. Not only does he enjoy reading it but he writes it very well. Don’t believe me? Go to his author page and download the FREE taboo ending of his Twice the Hands to Hold.

More importantly, to me, there is no greater accolade in the literature world than when one writer recommends the talents of another.

Although Louis is definitely not the only person to refer Kol’s work to me, he speaks of Anderson and his novels with such passion and reverence that I could not think of anyone better, to tell you why you should put Kol Anderson's The Prisoner: Anniversary Edition (Prisoner Anniversary Edition Book 1) on the top of your to be read pile.

With that……..here is Louis Stevens!

Louis Stevens - Author:

When the lovely Kimberly asked me to write a guest post about Kol Andersons anniversary edition of his Prisoner series, a million things raced through my mind. I wanted to tell you about the impact his work has had on me as an author. I wanted to convince you of his immeasurable insight into the human condition, or his incomparable talent at bringing characters to life through brilliant dialogue. But I realized that for the most part I won’t be able to convince anyone of it, as you have to experience all of that yourself.

What I can do is tell you about the impact Kol’s work has had on me, and our genre as a whole.

Kol’s work was the first really ‘dark’ erotica I was ever introduced to. It opened a Pandora’s box, as I was soon submerged so deep into the genre that it consumed my entire reading life.

What I was frustrated with, however, was the lack of great quality dark, and I mean really dark MM erotica in our genre that could measure up to Kol’s work.

Indeed, I soon learned that Kol is a trailblazer. There weren’t much other dark stories out there at the time (back in 2013 and 2014 when I first discovered his work) and the sub-genre was half as vibrant as it is today. Kol, along with other greats like Lisa Henry, showed readers and authors alike that dark erotica could land you on the bestsellers list. He proved this after knocking Ann Rice off the Amazon charts with his releases more than once, and that alone is saying a lot!

Prisoner Anniversary Edition

Prisoner remains to date Kol’s bestselling series. It was what attracted me to his work in the beginning, as it did many other of his now lifelong fans. It is a story of a prostitute that is kidnapped and ‘trained’ for a particular and wealthy master. Along the way you meet many tragic characters that you can’t help but fall for. Sound alarming? Intriguing?

It’s not for the faint of heart, that much I can tell you.

But if you are able to push your limits and open yourself up to a new reading experience, you will soon identify the mastery and art that go into the writing of these books. Of course there are villains, heroes, villains dressed as heroes and just plain old weirdoes in this series, but each character offers a glimpse into the human condition.

The first series has been re-released in an anniversary edition, soon to be followed by season two and three. Each season contains 3 books, and the third season will contain the finale of this amazing and trailblazing series. I hope you will open yourself up to this incredible author and his art, and celebrate his work along with many other readers.

While the subject matter of Kol’s work might preclude him from ever enjoying the mainstream success he so richly deserves, at least we can acknowledge the impact he has had on our eclectic genre.

The MM genre sure is lucky to have someone of Kol’s caliber, and he should be celebrated for that.

BLURB: Enjoy the special Anniversary Edition of the complete Prisoner series! (Set of Three Books)

I love to dream. And sometimes enjoy the concept of nightmares turning into fantasies, hence the dark subject matter of my books and the constant HEA approach. I do love the idea of love, and I have a passion for reading and movies and music and anything that keeps me distracted from the fact that life is pointless. I'm a writer. I'm not a book-minting machine and I'm not the guy who writes books in your head. I'm the guy who writes books in MY head. If you're into the fluffier side of life, you have my blessing but will you please take the next exit. For the rest of you depraved pervs, enjoy your stay ;)
