Monday Mentions: May 9, 2016
This week the Banter brings you two Monday Mentions which actually release today and I think you are going to love them! They both deal with an element of trust. And what is more important than trust between two partners?
The first is Amelia C. Gormley’s Risk Aware. This story takes you on Geoff’s journey to find a partner who is able to work within the limitations of his hemophilia and yet still be able to cater to what he believes is his masochistic side.
When Robin walks into his life they are both in for a major ride. Robin may just be able to give Geoff more than he ever thought possible.
I was lucky enough to receive an advanced reader copy of this beauty. Let me just say, this is one fabulously refreshing read! You are going to want to nab this one up quickly as everyone is going to be talking about it!
The next selection is Grace R. Duncan’s What About Now. After their relationship ended five years ago, due to perceived infidelity, Rafe has hatched a plan to win Braden back and he is not willing to take no for an answer.
He devises a way to force 28 days on a cruise ship in order to show Braden the truth and bring him home!
I just got done reading the excerpt for What About Now over at Dreamspinner and, I’m telling you, I can’t wait to get my hands on this baby.
We at the Banter would love to know if you have purchased any of our Monday Mentions and, if so, how well you liked them. Shoot us a message at kimmerseroticbookbanter@gmail.com.
BLURB:
Tattoo artist Geoff Gilchrest is convinced his life is some sort of cosmic joke. Why else would a hemophiliac also be a masochist? He’s given himself more than one elbow bleed since puberty just doing what guys do when alone and bored, so forget about whips and chains. How many partners would contemplate playing with someone even a mild flogging could kill?
Gallery owner Robin Brady knows he can deliver what Geoff needs: to be taken to the edge of danger but never beyond. But Robin came to Saugatuck to get away from the leather scene and heal from a betrayal by his former sub, so he’s not sure he should get involved with Geoff. His ambivalence isn’t helped by the fact that Geoff’s unwillingness to communicate about his well-being hits Robin in some very raw places.
Geoff’s hemophilia isn’t the obstacle he thinks it is. Instead, a lack of trust—on both their parts—is what could end them before they have a chance to begin.
BLURB:
Five years ago, everything went wrong. Braden Kirk and Rafe Jessen’s long-term relationship started unraveling. They stopped talking, fears mounted, then Braden walked in on Rafe and another man, completely misreading the situation. Without giving Rafe a chance to explain, Braden walks out. Out of their home, their relationship, and the game development company they started together in college.
After months of therapy to deal with the attempted rape Braden walked in on, Rafe begins to understand that his dominant tendencies in the bedroom aren’t a bad thing and that Braden’s submission is likely what scared his partner into silence. But Rafe isn’t ready to let go of the man he loves more than life itself. He arranges for himself and Braden to end up on the same charity cruise, knowing Braden won’t let his phobia—terror of vast, deep waters—rule him.
With a plan and twenty-eight days, Rafe is determined to get Braden back, make him see there’s nothing wrong with being submissive, and find a way to get Braden to stay with him when they get home to LA.
