Is beauty only skin deep?

Chemist Dr. Robert “Belle” Belleterre loves flowers, green trees, his best friend Judy, and “his baby:” the new face cream he developed to help put his father’s small cosmetics company on the map. Sadly he gets no help from his alcoholic, gambling-addicted father, who loses Belle in a poker game to Magnus Strong, the CEO of Beauty, Inc., the largest American cosmetics company—a man infamous for his scarred ugliness.

Belle finds himself uprooted from his home, living in a wildly crazy apartment in New York owned by Mr. Pennymaker, and completely unprepared for his mad attraction to the charismatic Strong. Feeling like a traitor, Belle fights his passion, only to see more and more of the goodness and humility hidden by Strong’s ugly face. But when Belle’s family starts manipulating his life again, the odds turn against happiness for beautiful Belle and his beloved beast.

4 HEART READ

REVIEW:

Beauty, Inc., by Tara Lain, is a rather fabulous read with some very intriguing characters. Although this is the third book in the Pennymaker Tales, it can easily be read as a stand alone. But let me tell you it has definitely peaked my interest to want to read the first two books in this series.

Beauty, Inc. is the story of Robert Belleterre, or rather, Belle. Belle is physically beautiful, but his beauty is not just skin deep...it reaches into his soul as well. Add to that Belle is also smart, and you have what I call:

A triple threat.

Without giving too much away, because this book absolutely must be absorbed in all its detail by the reader themselves, Belle's life is turned upside down when his father basically “loses him” during a poker game.

He is unceremoniously thrust into working for, Magnus - the winner of the poker hand and a man Belle has never met - while at the same time uprooting himself to an unknown city. And as if things couldn’t get any worse a dear friend suddenly becomes ill, leaving Belle feeling helpless.

Realizing just how precious and short life can be Belle begins to contemplate what he wants from his own. Yet as he does he could never have anticipated the strong attraction he seems to be developing for the scarred and ugly Magnus.

But is Magnus really a friend or is he perhaps a foe? Is he worth risking everything for or, does he have ulterior motives?

I recommend you have your favorite beverage in hand before you sit down to read Beauty, Inc..

The characters in this tale offer every reader the escape from reality they are looking for.

Lain absolutely creates men who engage you in their story and pull you into a world you don’t want to leave.

Tara Lain never met a beautiful boy she didn’t love – at least on paper. A writer of erotic romance, mostly ménage and male/male, Tara loves all her characters, but especially her handsome heroes. A lifelong writer of serious non-fiction, Tara had the first novel she ever wrote accepted for publication in 2011. She’s now on book 27 and counting. After an exotic life of travel all over the world and work in television, education and advertising, Tara settled in Southern California with her soul-mate husband and opened her own small marketing business. She paints, collages, and started practicing yoga “way before it was fashionable”. Passionate about diversity, justice, inclusion and new ideas she says on her tombstone it will read, “Yes”.
