Monday Mentions: June 13, 2016
It is with a heavy heart that I bring you today's Monday Mentions.
As a nation, as well as LGBTQ readers and supporters, we are devastated by this past weekend’s events. The loss of life in such a tragic way is unacceptable. But for it to be due to a lack of understanding for your fellow man is disheartening.
With that in mind I wanted to bring you two new reads this Monday that address differences. Specifically differences in sexuality. Asexual and bisexual.
As a reader I think the most important thing we learn when engrossed in a story is EMPATHY.
We learn to open our hearts and our minds to what another human being might experience and we begin to understand, in some small way.
In our society today it is never more important to return to having compassion for our fellow man!
It is my greatest hope you will give these reads, and others like them, a chance.
Much peace and love to you all. Make it a great week! <3
We at the Banter would love to know if you have purchased any of our Monday Mentions and, if so, how well you liked them. Please shoot us a message at kimmerseroticbookbanter@gmail.com or comment below.

Three cheating girlfriends in a row have given skateboarder Brennan Cross the same excuse: he wasn’t meeting their needs. Desperate and humiliated, he goes to the professionals at the local sex shop for advice.
Zafir Hamady, a sales clerk at Red Hot Bluewater, has an unusual theory: he doesn’t think Brennan is a bad lover. In fact, he doesn’t think Brennan is heterosexual. Or sexual at all, for that matter. He also can’t stop thinking about Brennan. But even if he’s right and Brennan really is asexual, that doesn’t mean Zafir has a chance. Brennan’s never dated a man, and Zafir’s never met anyone who’s game for a Muslim single father with a smart mouth and a GED.
Brennan’s always thought of himself as straight. But when sex is explicitly out of the mix, he finds himself drawn to Zafir for the qualities and interests they share. And Zafir can’t help enjoying Brennan’s company and the growing bond between Brennan and his son. They work well together, but with so many issues between them, doubts creep in, and Brennan’s struggle with his identity could push away the one person he didn’t know he could love.

Ethan Daniels, host of a popular conservative cable news program, has never thought of his bisexuality as a problem, even though he has never acted on his attraction to men. Since his divorce, his desire has become more acute. When he meets Charlie Woods, his daughter’s first grade teacher, they have an instant spark, but Ethan hesitates to act. His contract is up for renewal, there are already rumors swirling about him because of a brief encounter from his past, and the last thing his employers want is for one of their stars to come out publicly.
Charlie avoids romantic entanglements because he prefers living on his own terms. He keeps love and sex completely separate, never seeing anyone more than a few times. Hooking up with a closeted celebrity like Ethan seems safe from emotional involvement, even if they have to keep their fledgling relationship secret.
The last thing they expect is to fall in love, but their strong mutual attraction moves them both to make changes neither of them thought they wanted or needed.
