Monday Mentions: June 20, 2016
Monday Mentions is upon us again and this week I bring you two very different reads. The first is a novel from a brand new author while the second is a provocative paranormal read.
In Jason Huffman-Black’s debut Novel, Snakes Among Sweet Flowers, you find ex-con Cam’s dirty deeds thwarted by the townsfolk and closeted cop, Jackson. But when Cam’s past threatens to catch up with him will the mutual attraction they feel for one another be enough to save them both?
Next we have Helena Maeve’s paranormal adventure, The Gunslinger’s Man. When Asher Franklin hires a gang of already dead outlaws to assassinate the mayor has he gotten more than a bargained for? It seems the bandit at the helm of the gang, Halloran, is determined to make Asher his.
I hope whichever you read you choose will give you a great escape.
Make it a great week!
We at the Banter would love to know if you have purchased any of our Monday Mentions and, if so, how well you liked them. Please shoot us a message at: kimmerseroticbookbanter@gmail.com or comment below.

BLURB:
Two-time ex-con Camden Sanders has decided that Hog Mountain—an isolated community on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia—is the perfect place to continue running small scams without the threat of more prison time. But there are a few problems with this plan. One is the neighborly citizens of Hog Mountain thwarting his dirty dealings at every turn with their kindness. Another is Jackson Rhodes, a closeted Hog Mountain police officer who can see right through Cam’s good ol’ boy act and plans to catch him red-handed despite the attraction they both can feel. But the biggest problem of all is that Cam’s past is threatening to catch up with him, and it could mean trouble for more than just himself.

BLURB: Halloran was meant to free them, but Asher has never known a harsher prison.
Hiring a band of outlaws to assassinate the mayor may be a bold move, but Asher Franklin can’t take another minute of bowing and scraping to the sadist who runs his hometown. Graveyards teem with the bodies of those who have tried and failed to rebel against the powers that be, but the legendary Red Horn Riders hold an invaluable advantage over their predecessors: They’re already dead.
Common wisdom would have it that vampires seldom keep faith with humans, though, and the Red Horn Riders are no exception. Halloran, the ruthless bandit at the helm of the gang and Sargasso’s prospective savior, would rather claim Asher for his own than grant him the fate he deserves. His unwelcome kindness is Asher’s worst nightmare. To be chattel is bad enough. To be the property of the one vampire whose duplicity just cost the lives of Asher’s friends is so much worse.
Yet in the ungoverned deserts of the Wild West, vampires are a law unto themselves and terror comes in many forms. Halloran’s bite may be sharp, but worse foes roam the sands than Asher can begin to imagine.
