Monday Mentions: June 27, 2016
I hope this Monday Mentions brings you a gloriously sunny start to your work week. I for one have a full heart after seeing many photos of the beautiful display of PRIDE this past weekend in New York. The LGBTQ community truly showed that love is love and that we are ALL One Orlando!
This week I am bringing you a couple “other worldly” tales. Both of which release this Tuesday, June 28th.
The first is Spell Weaver by Megan Derr. Don’t get your hackles up by the spelling in the blurb here people. It really is “spelling suit”.
Myka makes them in a seedy part of town and is at risk for losing everything, when he comes across an invite to the royal ball. He uses the opportunity to attend, as someone other than the “spell weaver”, and perhaps enjoy time with his best client.
Think a little Harry Potter meets Cinderella.
In the second of my selections I give you Caleb James’ Dark Blood Saga Book One. In this paranormal mystery, suspense, thriller *whew* young Miles possesses a healing gift. Once discovered it threatens not only him but those he loves.
This one has even me wanting to give it a go. With everything from kidnapping to torture – even murder!
I hope you take a peek and….make it a great week!
We at the Banter would love to know if you have purchased any of our Monday Mentions and, if so, how well you liked them. Please shoot us a message at kimmerseroticbookbanter@gmail.com or comment below.
BLURB:
Myka's dream was to someday own his shop, making and spelling suits that were prized throughout the world. Instead, he rejected an apprenticeship with a master who proved to be reprehensible—and untouchable—and lost everything. Now, he works in a derelict shop in the wrong part of town, and it's only a matter of time before he's caught spelling without a license or thrown out by his odious landlord. The only bright part of his days are the occasional visits from his best client, Johan, a man who works in the palace and always brings the finest suits to have spelled. When he accidentally leaves behind an invitation to the royal ball, Myka takes it, determined to have one evening where he can enjoy himself—and perhaps even spend time with Johan as something other than a spell weaver.
BLURB:
Handsome, brilliant, and surrounded by good friends, twenty-three-year-old medical student Miles Fox has a secret—and it’s not that he’s gay. Though he harbors a crush on his straight best friend, Luke. Miles, like his grandmother, Anna, possesses the healing gift, an ability she’s made him swear never to use or divulge, lest horrible things befall those he loves. It happened to her when Nazis butchered her family.
But it all goes to hell when Miles heals a terminally ill man on a New Orleans cancer ward and wakes locked in the psych unit. Worse, news of the healing miracle spreads. For millennia, its carriers have been hunted by those who would steal it. Dr. Gerald Stangl and his teenage son, Calvin, know what Miles possesses. They, like their predecessors, will stop at nothing to take it, including kidnapping, torture, and murder. As the Stangls' noose tightens, Miles and Luke are trapped in a death match with stakes higher than they could ever imagine.
