AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT & GIVEAWAY: Joseph Lance Tonlet
As we wind down our two week long blog-iversary celebration I am happy to say the authors just keep on coming.
Today I am honored to have the Author Spotlight focus on Joseph Lance Tonlet as he makes a BIG announcement.
But before we get to that I think I would be remiss if I did not mention our history. Yes, Joseph and I are friends. Yes, I love his work. Yes, we spent some time together in April. In fact we met face to face almost a year to the day that I wrote my review of Grif’s Toy.
And lastly, yes, that book holds a special place of pride in my brand new office. Because Grif's Toy was the first M/M book I ever read...and I have not looked back.
Our relationship began simply - when I read and remarked on his book. As if by fate we found ourselves developing a rapport of trust and respect, through mutual interests and coincidences. One of which being that we have both been with our spouses over twenty years. And as such we began to rely on one another for sound advice.
Advice from Joseph that led to me being the Blogger I am today. Advice that I hope I have repaid him, especially in my BETA of Wes’ Denial.
I cannot even begin to tell you what an honor it was to be one of the first people to hold Wes’ book. Well, hold in cyber terms. *giggles* One of the first to partake of Grif and Wes’ continuing story. One of the first to experience Wes’ journey. And one of the first to say yeah or nah to an author's work. To a friends soul. And it was scary as hell!
Where I'm going with all this background is to say that I am no fangirl. I operate what is becoming a trusted book review blog and when I review one of Joseph’s books, or BETA for that matter, it is no different than for any other author. I will tell you exactly what I feel. In fact maybe even MORE so because I fear the “friendship card”.
No, with me what you see is what you get and I will never hold anything back. To do so, especially in a relationship such as this, would be no benefit to either of us. Professionally or personally. I want Joseph to be the best he can be and he wishes the same for me in return.
O.K., enough sappy shit. You heard me: I BETA’d Wes’ Denial! Oh, and I am in the process of doing it again. *smirk* But, you want to know if I liked it.
Holy shit balls people: Joseph brings out every single emotion in you through Wes’ Denial. I laughed, I cried tears of happiness, I worried, I found I was feeling grateful, I was in shock, I was aroused, and I even cried tears of sorrow.
But most of all I was mesmerized that the black and white words on the page had deeply touched my soul.
I think you will enjoy every single moment of Wes’ Denial. The wait is definitely worth it!
So, with that I give you Joseph Lance Tonlet. Or, as I call him, J. But – that’s only for me. *winks*
"Hi everyone! I hope y’all are having an amazing summer...and finding plenty of time to enjoy all sorts of steamy, naughty books! *grins*
Massive congratulations to Kim and her amazing team on their six month anniversary! I’m so incredibly honored to be invited to partake in the festivities.
To be honest, a short break from Wes’ Denial is certainly welcome. *smiles* I’ve been busily working away and it’s currently in the final stages of beta reading—and it’ll be heading into the editing phase at the end of the week. I’m so excited at the prospect of the sequel to Grif’s Toy being in reader’s hands rather shortly. In fact, I hope to have it at press in as little as six to eight weeks. *fingers crossed*
Admittedly, I’ve taken my time with this story. However, not only is writing a sequel daunting in of itself—there are expectations one wants to live up to—but also, and perhaps of more significance, is the importance of Grif and Wes themselves. Their story is incredibly personal to me and, thus, I wanted to take my time and get it right, to do these two characters justice. The feedback I’ve received so far has been overwhelmingly positive. So, it’s my sincere hope that I was successful in my endeavor at showing these two characters all the love and care I think they deserve.
Quickly, I’d like to take this opportunity to again thank you, the readers of Grif’s Toy, for the outpouring of love and understanding you’ve shown the book. I never could have anticipated how a story so near to my heart would also touch so many of you. That alone means more to me than I could ever convey.
I hope while you’re here, you’ll take a look around. Browse through the amazing authors I’m fortunate enough to be amongst in this celebration, take a look at the site’s outstanding reading recommendations, and then be sure to sign up for the newsletter to be eligible for the giveaway!
As always, my sincere gratitude. Peace.
Releasing Fall 2016 Wes has spent his life looking for that one special guy who will understand and love him—all of him. From his tender vanilla side, to his darker debauched side. Throughout high school, his successful career in the Marines, and as a BDSM Dom, he’s remained confident his partner is out there waiting to be found. However, several events shake his normally unflappable confidence. And, even after he finds Grif, will his past catch up with him and possibly drive his soulmate away?
Oh, I almost forgot, I have given Kim one autographed paperback each of Grif's Toy, Brothers LaFon and Quillon's Covert, my co-author with Louis Stevens, to give away to three lucky readers. Good luck!
Remember - #pleasurethroughdenial"
I'm a born and raised Southern Californian—with a twenty-year stint of living in the Midwest. I love the laid-back lifestyle of San Diego and consider myself lucky to live where people dream of vacationing. I am a lifelong reader of m/m fiction, and I began my writing career one night sitting at my MacBook…I’ve never looked back. I write to bring the characters I dream about—and who often keep me awake at night—to life.
