4 HEART READ

REVIEW:

I found Code Name Jack Rabbit, the first in The Vampire Guard series by Elizabeth Noble, to be a fun and thrilling read. Who wouldn’t with vampires and shifters for main characters?

This being the first story I have read with male/male relationships between vamps and werewolves, I have to say…..it was yummy! And I will most definitely be seeking out similar reads.

Noble sets the stage well for this tale’s plot by introducing four main lead’s.…along with a very cool supporting cast.

You have the vampire cop, Jonas Forge and his soul mate vampire, Blair Turner; who just so happens to be a computer hacker. Then there’s Declan, who although a vampire, he is with his soul mate werewolf, medical examiner, Lucas Coate.

I really found myself liking the fact that vampires, shifters, and even humans, can all be each other’s mated loves.

Together, these groups of men are thrown into a situation where things are not as they appear to be, and they must use their skills to work at stopping a murder.

Complicating the case, and adding to some intrigue, is the fact that Lucas is not in good standing with his pack due to decisions he's made in the past. But he and his friends find that in order to solve this conundrum they are going to need every bit of the pack family’s assistance.

Although I did find this book to be somewhat romantic it is not the author’s sole intent – the murder is. There are wonderfully, dynamic relationships and a “tryst” for each of the pairings, but that is the most you are going to get.

If erotica is your goal you will not find that here. But you will find a very fulfilling fantasy twister…with a “bite”.

Both the characters and the riddle in Code Name Jack Rabbit are compelling and interesting. The men have such a strong bond, not only as mates but as friends, and it was evident that the connection came in handy when working the mystery.

If you like vampires and werewolves and Nancy Drew like, or should I say Hardy Boy’s, crime solving stories then Code Name Jack Rabbit is the book for you!

I for one am very excited for these boys’ next crime solving case.

A copy of Code Name Jack Rabbit was provided to Kimmers' Erotic Book Banter, by DSP Publications, in exchange for our fair and honest opinion.

Elizabeth Noble lives by the adage “I can’t not write”. She can’t remember a time when she didn’t make up stories and eventually she learned how to write them down. A part of every day is spent living in worlds she created that are filled with intrigue and espionage. Using a real love of scifi and urban fantasy highlighted by twisty plots she crafts stories taking place in a slightly altered version of our world.

When she’s not chronicling the adventures of her many characters Elizabeth is a veterinary nurse living in her native Cleveland, Ohio. She shares her little brick house with an adorable canine princess and her tabby cat side-kick. Elizabeth is a fan of baseball, basketball (go Cavs and Indians!) and gardening. She can often be found working in her ‘outside office’ listening to classic rock and plotting her next novel waiting for it to be dark enough to gaze at the stars.

Elizabeth received several amateur writing awards. Since being published two of her novels have received honorable mentions in the Rainbow Awards. Her novel Jewel Cave was a runner up in the 2015 Rainbow awards in the Gay Mystery/Thriller category.
