Kora Knight’s Upending Tad: A Journey of Erotic Discovery Bundle, encompassing the first three books in her aptly named series, really gets right down to it. There’s no passing go here people.
Knight’s detail is so amazing I could actually feel what the characters were feeling deep in my loins.
Loser Takes All is all about the sex, but sets the stage for what is to ensue! I kinda wished there was a tiny bit more character building, but this is quickly resolved by the time you get to Test of Endurance as you get more insight into both Tad and Scott.
Not only is the detail amazing in these three books: Loser Takes All, Test of Endurance and Sideline Submission, but Kora creates such a guy-vibe and demanding flirty banter between Tad and Scott, that is so believably fun, it absolutely endears you to them.
It is evident rather quickly, even from their first encounter, that these boys are immensely drawn to one another.
Throughout the bundle I loved Tad’s internal struggle. He enjoys his moments with Scott while at the same time grappling with the possibility that he might be gay and wondering if he “wants” to be. As you feel Tad fighting his truth, your heart melts for him and you want him to accept who he is and that he wants Scott. Every time those “fluttery things” kick up, you can’t help but smile and root this shy boy on!
It’s also interesting how Scott pushes Tad, without Tad even realizing he’s doing it. You see Scott trying to help Tad come to his own realization of who he is. But at the same time it is very clear that Scott is cognizant of Tad’s thoughts and hesitation that he may be gay, and Scott is in some small way helping him to proceed and discover at his own pace.
Of course in as much as Scott's overpowering desire will allow...and it is deliciously overpowering. The fact that he is unable to think for a month when they are apart; not to mention his needful growling when they are together….gah!
But still, when he lets it be known that Tad is going to have to be the one to ask for more, you know Scott wants Tad to be the one to discover who he is and what he wants, on his own, so there are no future regrets.
I have to say that the Upending Tad Bundle is unique in the fact that each book is one huge, focused sex scene that ends up having deeper meaning than just the sex, and I loved that.
The fact that an author can put context within the throes of sex, aaaa-maz-ing!
Plus as each book closes Tad is discovering a little more about himself, Scott is opening up and Kora Knight leaves you wanting more. More of Tad and Scott, and more of their growing story.
These boys are definitely in my top five of the best book boyfriends ever!
