REVIEW:
For a short little read Jessi Bond’s Bound by the Enemy, book one in the Bound by the Enemy series, pulls quite the tantalizing punch!
In the opening scene Blake, a Secret Agent, comes to in a dazed fog. Bound in a compromising position.
When his captor, Sarceda, arrives and leads him through an expansive home with guards at every corner, it is obvious this is a very powerful man. Blake decides then and there to use his skills to read him and not be manipulated.
But when he is a guest at dinner nothing goes according to plan.
Thinking he has Sarceda playing right into his hand he is shockingly questioned about sexual preferences and suddenly the tables are turned and Blake finds himself “Bound by the Enemy” - vulnerable in more ways than one.
I have to give it to Blake he really tries hard to stick to his smart ass bravado even when it’s evident he and Sarceda are evenly matched in their cunning. But Sarceda has the upper hand and he uses it. Forcefully. Seductively!
To be honest the sex seemed a bit intense – almost abrupt. I mean come on, fisting first-time anal!? *gah* And at times I wondered if Blake didn’t cave too quickly to his circumstances. But heh, he was abducted, right? Sarceda doesn’t care.
Bound by the Enemy will have you questioning while at the same time believing and then understanding: When Blake thinks to himself that the only thing the organization did not condition him to defend himself against - is pleasure.
And the developing Master/slave dynamic that starts to reveal itself will have you rushing to the finish to realize that it’s just exactly what you were waiting for.
