Monday Mentions: November 21, 2016

As a short week looms ahead for many of us there are a couple of reads you should definitely check out during this Monday Mention.

In Ashley John’s Alone for Christmas, released yesterday, Noah never expected his office crush on the boss, Chip, would amount to anything. But a drunken kiss at a corporate Christmas party is about to change all that – blurring the employee, employer lines.

On Thanksgiving Day (for the non-American folk that’s November 24th *winks*) there is a very special release coming your way. One that benefits our LGBTQ youth! Aisling Mancy’s Heartifact.

Heartifact is an action, adventure romance which explores the undersea world and finds Harper falling for a mythical creature. But when the excavation he’s on turns deadly Harp will be forced to make a life altering choice.

What’s great about Heartifact is that all net proceeds will be benefiting The Trevor Project in the US, le Refuge in France, and Arcigay in Italy. I can tell you our very own, Annie, read and loved Heartifact. You can check back here on November 23rd for her pre-release review. Then be sure to come back on December 2nd where we will be hosting Aisling Mancy on his blog tour with a character interview from Heartifact.

Make it a great week!

We at the Banter would love to know if you have purchased any of our Monday Mentions and, if so, how well you liked them. Please feel free to comment below.

BLURB:

Noah expected to spend Christmas alone, but he never expected to spend it falling in love with his boss. With his third divorce looming and his bank accounts frozen, Chip Harington was surprisingly okay with spending Christmas alone, even if he was living out of a suitcase in his office. He had already decided to skip the office Christmas party, until some surprising words from one of his employees makes him change his mind. Noah always expected the crush for his boss to fade, but after two years working under Chip, his feelings are stronger than ever. With Chip’s personal life in tatters once more, Noah never expected his boss to show his face at the office Christmas party, so he was even more surprised when his drunken attempt to kiss Chip turned into so much more. Chip assumed his encounter with Noah was nothing more than a one-night stand, but when his employee emerges from a snowstorm on Christmas Eve, they are forced to spend Christmas together in a London office block. With the lines between employer and employee blurred, will either man emerge from the snow the same, or will their Christmas encounter change the course of their lives forever, making them wish they had spent Christmas alone after all?

BLURB:

Harper Kidd is a highly respected marine archaeologist. Yet, with the economy in a slump, he’s trapped working in an oil company’s exploration division. Now, at the ripe age of thirty, Harp is disgusted with his employer’s damage to the undersea world he loves, tired of his ATM-card-filching ex, and tormented by beautiful dreams of an undersea lover. It’s time for a change and when his best friend, Stick, pleads with him to assist on a deep-sea dig in the Mediterranean, he jumps at the chance. Harper’s spirits are high when they discover the ruins of an ancient civilization, and soar to the heavens when they discover a statue of an ancient pelora, a mysterious hybrid creature said to mediate between the worlds of reality and fantasy—and the very lover who holds the starring role in his dreams. When the crew discovers the site is teeming with unexploded ordnance from the conflicts in the Middle East, and the excavation turns deadly, Harper must choose between saving his best friend and saving the pelora he’s fallen in love with.
