BLURB:
When two strangers are trapped in a blizzard, heat rises.
Haunted by what he lost in Afghanistan, Captain Jack Turner is at a crossroads. While the last place he wants to go is the Arctic, at least the routine mission gets him out from behind his new desk. But he starts off on the wrong foot with the Canadian Ranger guiding him across the forbidding and dangerous land, and Jack would rather be anywhere than sharing a tent with Sergeant Kin Carsen.
The Arctic is in Kin's blood, and he can't seem to leave the tundra behind. He wishes he could live openly as a gay man, but the North isn't as accepting as the rest of Canada. Although he's lonely, he loves his responsibility as a Ranger, patrolling the vast land he knows so well. But he's on unfamiliar ground with Jack, and when they're stranded alone by a blizzard, unexpected desire begins to burn. Soon they're in a struggle to survive, and all these strangers have is each other.
Note: This gay romance from Keira Andrews features emotional repression, hurt/comfort, adventure on the tundra, and love where you least expect it.
Arctic Fire first appeared in the M/M military bundle Unconditional Surrender in 2014.
5 HEART READ
REVIEW:
Having read Arctic Fire by Keira Andrews I can now say without any hesitation that Andrews has made it into my top five list of M/M authors.
What little I have read from Keira I am always drawn in by her ability to portray imagery that is tangible and makes me feel as if I’m right there with her characters, forgetting all else around me. I sense every little move, minor twitch, see their reactions, taste everything on their lips, hear their yearning, and even smell their surroundings.
Andrews gives her readers the ultimate escape every book geek wishes to experience!
In Arctic Fire Captain Jack Turner and the leader of the Arctic Bay Rangers, Kin Carsen, are placed together in the middle of “nowhere” by way of military orders. Jack could really care less where he’s landed and Kin is proud to be able to show off his home, his community.
Needless to say their first meeting is not all it could be, in part due to Jack not reading his briefing package. Kin takes his attitude for disinterest, not only in Jack’s mission but in the countryside he’s come to explore.
The two eventually set out to navigate the Northern edges of Canada with nothing but a snowmobile, a sled of supplies and Kin’s expertise. Expertise that saves their lives in every sense of the word.
I love how Andrews has this way of placing her characters in situations where they must face their fears, physically and emotionally. Where through baring their secrets, their desires, they open themselves and their hearts to the other.
She creates men who typically harbor remorse for something in their past, something that eventually connects them, binds their attraction, and Jack and Kin are no different.
Arctic Fire is told from Jack and Kin’s points of view and it helps the reader connect with their thoughts, not only about the other man, but they themselves and their reactions to each other.
Watching Jack and Kin’s attraction unfold was like being a voyeur. The utter intimacy of their interactions, their touches, their connection - was almost overwhelming.
When a simple thing like warming up someone's extremities to warrant off frost bite turns you on, and they didn’t even have sex….you know these boys have chemistry!
Arctic Fire was only my second book by Keira Andrews but I have quickly come to realize I could read her stories all damn day! So it’s a good thing there is quite a large selection. I’m just hoping the choices will ultimately include more of Jack and Kin because I’m more than ready to melt from their full on “fire”! For me Arctic Fire was only a taste of a relationship bound to be epic.

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, fantasy, and paranormal fiction and — although she loves delicious angst along the way — Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:
“The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”
