BLURB:
Way’ra Bernard is only twenty years old when his parents kick him out of the house. He has been brought up to believe being gay is wrong and he is going to go to hell for it. He tried very hard not to be gay but couldn’t change the way he felt. Now he’s living furtively in a closet on the third floor of the place he’s working as a janitor—the Iron Eagle Gym.
Neal McPherson is an unattached Dom in his mid-twenties and a member of the gym. One evening after working out, he notices Way’ra on the stairs and he’s immediately attracted and intrigued, so he asks Way’ra out. Unable to come up with a reason to refuse and also interested in Neal, Way’ra accepts.
There are a lot of obstacles to the relationship they attempt to build after their date, not least of which is Way’ra’s upbringing and his lingering doubts about the kinky sex Neal enjoys. But with patience and persistence, Neal might convince Way’ra not only to accept himself, but to loosen his inhibitions enough to explore and find a happy ending together.
Thanks, Kimmers, for allowing me to share my book with your readers!
The Closet Boy is an apt title for this book, because not only is Way’ra living in an actual closet, but he’s doing that because he’s just come out to his parents and they kicked him out of the house.
This excerpt takes place during Way’ra and Neal’s first going for coffee together – not a date! Their first date comes much later.
I hope all your followers enjoy it and will perhaps consider reading their story. Sean
Excerpt:
“Good. Feed me a bite?” He opened his mouth again.
“Okay. Just one. It’s dangerous.”
He received a single, quick bite. “Mmm. It’s good. I’m not sure it’s dangerously good, though,” he noted.
“I meant to be… overt.”
He shook his head. “It’s the gay part of town. We’re good here. Besides, I’ll thump anyone who tries to interfere or gets on our cases.” He flexed for Way.
To his surprise, Way laughed for him, the sound charming as hell. Oh God, he wanted to hear that again.
“What did you think about the flan?” Way asked.
“I think you should feed me another piece, and then we should try the coffee cake.”
Way nodded and carefully scooped up another bite, gaze focused determinedly on his mouth. Neal licked his lips. Slowly.
Was that a moan?
Neal thought it was a moan.
He opened wider, watching Way closely. Way placed the bite on his tongue. He closed his lips over the fork and held Way’s gaze as the fork slid from his mouth. Way pulled away, the fork clattering to the table.
“Easy,” he murmured. “Easy.”
“Sorry. Sorry, I just— I should probably go back to work, huh?”
“I’d rather spend some more time talking to you. Besides, you haven’t finished the cranberry flan. Or tried the coffee cake.” He wasn’t ready to say good-bye yet. “You said you were almost done for the day, anyway. You were heading home.”
“Oh yes.”
“So you can stay for a while. Here. With me.” Neal was pleased at his own logic.
“Yeah. Yeah, I can. Have I said thank you for the coffee, yet?”
“You’re very welcome. Now let’s see if this is a good coffee cake or not.” He broke off a piece, holding it up to Way’s mouth.
“You should—”
He popped the bite in. What he wanted to do was kiss Way. He leaned in.
Way’s eyes were so dark, so fucking deep.
Smiling, he moved in ever closer, holding Way’s gaze. He licked his own lips and felt Way’s breath on them.
“We shouldn’t be bad,” Way whispered.
“We’re not going to be bad. We’re going to be very, very good.”
“Okay.” Way leaned back from him, putting space between them.
Chuckling, he shook his head. “That’s not what I meant.”
“No? Are you sure?”
“Yeah, I’m quite sure I meant it was going to be a fantastic kiss.”
Way laughed for him again, shook his head. “You’re something else.”
“I’m glad you think so.” He half stood and leaned in, taking the kiss this time. Way opened at the touch of his lips, the dear man gasping softly.
Such wonderful instincts.
He broke the kiss with reluctance.
Way blinked at him owlishly, obviously stunned.
Smiling, he sat back, feeling a little smug.
“Well… no one got hit by lightning….” Way noted.
