4 HEART READ

REVIEW: I was instantly intrigued by Kim Fielding’s outline for Anyplace Else and was not disappointed when getting absorbed in the story within the first few pages.

As part of Dreamspinner Press’ 2016 Advent Calendar release, Bah Humbug, you can purchase Anyplace Else as part of a 31 story bundle or as an individual read.

Fielding’s story is deep and poignant - giving the reader a sense of being drawn into something bigger than ones self and indeed bigger than the traditional modern Christmas!

The fable does not follow the Christian version of the holiday we know today, but shows a meaningful and heartfelt narrative beyond the origins of the original history.

There is bravery and honesty in Anyplace Else and Kim Fielding’s characters are tangible and enjoyable.

Reading it made me feel a longing for the men themselves and it is one of those rare books that leaves you sighing with regret at the end knowing there are no more pages.

A copy of Anyplace Else was provided to Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter, by Dreamspinner Press, in exchange for our fair and honest opinion.

Anyplace Else

Kim Fielding is the bestselling author of numerous m/m romance novels, novellas, and short stories. Like Kim herself, her work is eclectic, spanning genres such as contemporary, fantasy, paranormal, and historical. Her stories are set in alternate worlds, in 15th century Bosnia, in modern-day Oregon. Her heroes are hipster architect werewolves, housekeepers, maimed giants, and conflicted graduate students. They’re usually flawed, they often encounter terrible obstacles, but they always find love.

Kim’s novel Brute was the 2013 Rainbow Award Winner for Best Gay Fantasy and tied for fourth place for Best Gay Novel.

After having migrated back and forth across the western two-thirds of the United States, Kim calls the boring part of California home. She lives there with her husband, her two daughters, and her day job as a university professor, but escapes as often as possible via car, train, plane, or boat. This may explain why her characters often seem to be in transit as well. She dreams of traveling and writing full-time.
