About All I Want for Christmas....Is No Christmas Alec Ryder’s arrest in Aspen, early on the morning of December 25 is the latest disaster in his series of unhappy Christmases. He’s dreaded the holiday since being subjected to endless church services as a child. Being kicked out on Christmas Day after he came out to his parents, followed by an improbable series of yearly yuletide trips to the emergency room, haven’t made his Christmases any merrier. But getting busted for prostitution is the worst catastrophe; it means Alec’s dream of a college degree is gone, replaced by the specter of jail time.

Just when Alec thinks things can’t get worse, Hayden Adler shows up to interrogate him. Hayden is a glamorous attorney who also happens to be Alec’s college roommate’s cousin. Alec’s had a crush on Hayden for years, but whatever miniscule chance Alec might’ve had is now history - just like the life he’s been trying to build for himself.

But things aren’t quite what they seem. In a long line of miserable Christmases, Alec will never forget this one, although not for the reasons he suspects.

4 HEART READ

REVIEW: Colton Aalto’s All I Want for Christmas… Is No Christmas might sound like it’s anti-holidays, but this heartwarming story gives a few awww moments and a thoroughly enjoyable read!

Aalto’s identifiable characters show themselves through the “book-screen” and have me remembering them long after I’ve switched the Kindle off.

His use of humour is another highlight and I found myself smirking and giggling more than once during this short tale.

I look for a lot of raunchy content in my erotic stories, but when the surrounding story is this enthralling, the building sexual tension itself can be just as wonderful!

All I Want for Christmas….Is No Christmas was my first experience reading Colton Aalto’s work, but I must say I will be looking for any of his future writings as his style left me sated and smiling.

A copy of All I Want for Christmas… Is No Christmas was provided to Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter, by Dreamspinner Press, in exchange for our fair and honest opinion.

All I Want for Christmas….Is No Christmas

Colton Aalto lives in a century-old brick warehouse in the LoDo section of downtown Denver with his husband and two cats, neither of whom understand how good they have it. Actually, the same can be said about Colton and his husband too.

Colton grew up in Colorado, but after finishing college, he found the East Coast intriguing (plus there was a full ride for graduate school waiting). He spent a decade on the East Coast learning how to eat Italian food, ride trains, and endure humidity. He collected a masters and a law degree along the way and had a brief criminal justice career. Colton returned to Colorado when the lure of snow skiing and Colorado’s sunny skies proved too great to resist. He practices law and writes legal treatises, except on powder days.

A single state remains before Colton can claim he has traveled to all fifty states. He and his husband have bicycled on six continents, pedaled up passes in the Alps, ridden camels into the Sahara, and slept on the sand (okay, it was in a lavish tent). Colton does his best writing in his head while bicycling or skiing, but seldom remembers the captivating images or witty dialogue long enough to get to a keyboard. And when he gets to the keyboard, the result on the computer screen is never quite as entertaining as it was in his head.

Colton’s inaugural published fiction, a story titled The Missing Piece, is included in Jerry Wheeler’s Men in Love (Bold Strokes Books, 2016).
