About Love Wins
With time comes healing, but Orlando and the LGBT community are still recovering from last June’s tragedy. To show our ongoing support for those affected by the Orlando shooting, our authors, editors, artists, and staff have volunteered their talents to create this second benefit anthology. All proceeds will be donated to LGBT organizations in central Florida. Join us as we reaffirm that no matter the obstacle, love always wins.

Love Wins
It’s hard to remember sometimes. Especially in the face of tragedy. Tragedy like the one we saw in June, when a man stepped into an Orlando nightclub and began shooting. In the days following, as a nation and a community, we looked for ways to help. To grieve and heal. To stop this from ever happening again.
There are dark times, behind and ahead. And when they threaten, saying “love wins” is not enough. Because in order for love to triumph over hate, we have to act. We have to stand together and stand up against hate. It can be something as big as standing on a national stage or as simple as donating to charities.
Or it can be something as simple as accepting a loved one as they find the strength to tell you who they are.
When I wrote Shane and Henry’s story, I wanted it to be exactly like that. Shane is facing a dark time, knowing that if he admits who he is, he will lose people in his life. He’s scared and hurting. But he has Henry, the man he loves, and together they can make it through the dark times.
There are thousands of ways we can help love triumph over hate, acts big and small. I urge you to find one that works for you.
A small thing for me was writing this story to include in the Love Wins Anthology, released today. It’s one thing I knew I could do. And it’s filled with stories just like that, where love triumphs over hate. All proceeds go to the victims in Orlando.
You are not alone. Neither am I. And the thing to remember is that standing together, we can make sure love wins!

Kris T. Bethke has been a voracious reader for pretty much her entire life and has been writing stories for nearly as long. An avid and prolific daydreamer, she always has a story in her head. She spends most of her free time reading, writing, or knitting/crocheting her latest project. Her biggest desire is to find a way to accomplish all three tasks at one time. A classic muscle car will always turn her head, and naps on the weekend are one of her greatest guilty pleasures. She lives in a converted attic with a way too fluffy cat and the voices in her head. She’ll tell you she thinks that’s a pretty good deal. Kris believes that love is love, no matter the gender of people involved, and that all love deserves to be celebrated.

Individuals who comment below telling us what way(s) you have been helping love triumph over hate will be placed in a drawing where:
ONE random person will WIN an eBook copy of 'Love Wins' purchased, and donated, by Kimmers' Erotic Book Banter.
