About Exposed
With middle-age looming, Greg offsets his boring day job with what truly feeds his soul: photography. The camera is an extension of himself where he exposes his passion for the intersect of pleasure and pain. However, the lens also acts as a barrier, protecting his subjects from the shameful mistakes of his past, and Greg is left isolated and lonely. Emyr stands on the cusp of fame, but adulation and abuse are both eroding his confidence, and one night, at the river’s edge, he seeks solace in the rain, hoping to hide his tears. The photographer and the virgin rock star share an accidental connection on that dark, drizzly night. When Greg invites Emyr back to his hotel room, no strings attached, the young man should have bolted. Instead, an odd sense of trust allows him to follow Greg’s lead. When the camera comes out, Emyr learns the stage isn’t the only place he loves to perform as Greg touches something inside him that rarely awakens. Faced with a beautiful, talented boy whose soul is as lonely as his own, will Greg be able to face his past and come to terms with it, or will he run from the connection he so desperately desires?
5 HEART READ
REVIEW: I’m not sure what I like more, when Bey writes dark and contemplative or as in this case sweet, thoughtful and hungry.
After reading Exposed it would seem that Bey Deckard brings magic to every sub-genre he touches.
For those who don’t like “insta-attraction” don’t get too hung up on this as this story begins, because as Greg and Emyr’s tale progresses, so much is revealed that will have you second guessing your own thoughts. In the same regard if “daddy kink” is a not for you, give this book a chance. The daddy play is not overt and leads to some tantalizing sex – almost as if the author is playing to the readers fantasies.
The story begins as Greg happens upon Emyr at the edge of the river Thames one evening. He can tell he’s “a boy with a mountain’s worth of responsibility on his back” who just needs an escape; so he offers him seclusion, no strings attached, in his hotel room.
As they develop an easy report over a couple of drinks and Emyr discovers Greg’s a photographer of a certain “subject matter” they both realize they are interested in a little bit more than casual conversation.
What transpires quickly becomes a scene somewhat reminiscent of one playing truth or dare and the reader is clued into the fact that Greg has a predilection to dominate. A yearning he can’t fulfill due to a huge secret….a secret he has been harboring for five years!
Yet Greg quickly discovers he’s not the only one hiding something. Emyr’s secret makes their dynamic even more compelling and requires the reader to stretch their fictional belief.
Once uncovered and shared their truths require both men to fight like hell.
Greg against his demons and Emyr against Greg to have what they both desire. And Emyr is one determined young fighter! His spark is lit and the fire is about to engulf them both.
As I read I had reservations that Emyr was succumbing too quickly, almost charmed by the visual and physical sensory overload. Especially for a young man with no real experience and whom was not certain of his sexuality. Yet Bey creates a wonderful character in Emyr who, for his age, is mature, confident and knows what he wants….and what Greg needs. He’s headstrong and confident enough for the both of them to make it happen. After all, sometimes don’t we just know!?
When Greg and Emyr decide to set out on a 9 month journey I was treated to a beautiful progression of a relationship.
Intense passion and desire, excitement, self-doubt, wonder, and fear……fear of losing what you think you want and at the same time fear of getting exactly what you desire.
Exposed is a story of two men realizing that being there for someone, sharing in their experiences (good or bad), growing with them – is what a relationship truly is. Reading this novel left me full of lots of cwtch!

Artist, Writer, Dog Lover
Born and raised in a small coastal town in northern Québec, Bey spent his early summers on his uncle’s boat and running wild on the beaches of the surrounding islands, lighting fires and building huts out of driftwood and fishermen’s nets. As an adult, he eventually made his way to university and earned a degree in Art History with a strong focus on Anthropology. Primarily a portrait painter and graphic artist, Bey sat down one day and decided to start writing.
Bey currently lives in the wilds of Montréal with his best buddy, a ridiculous, spotty pit bull named Murphy.
