Keller: The Truth Behind the Pen-Name

A few months ago, someone told me that they thought my last name was really Keller. I’d like that, but unfortunately it isn’t.

When I created Erin, I needed a last name, but I didn’t want a random one, I wanted something that would represent me. It didn’t take long to conclude that Keller was the right one for me. Because the name Keller has an Irish descent and also because it’s been a constant in my life.

It all started when I saw the movie “The Miracle Worker” and I learned of the existence of that amazing creature named Helen Keller. She was deaf-blind and yet she became an author and an activist. An incredible woman. A beautiful and intense movie. She’s been the first Keller of a long list.

After a few years, I found Helen Keller again, this time represented in one of my favorite cartoons – “Glass Mask”. And I loved it!

Then I entered the TV series world. I’ve always been a “seriesaholic” and one of my first – and oh so intense – crushes was Steve Keller, played by Michael Douglas in “The Streets of San Francisco.”

Now we make a sharp jump forward to the moment OZ came into my life, and I fell in love with it. Do I need to tell you who my favorite character was? Chris Keller, of course, played by the stunning Christopher Meloni. A first-class sociopath, but charming and SO sexy. Meloni is simply superb. There aren’t many videos dedicated to him alone, because it’s hard to think about Keller without his partner, Tobias Beecher. A crazy and sick love story, but an unforgettable one. I could talk about it for hours…

Then, in 2010, “White Collar” came to my attention. To my huge surprise, there I find Ross McCall starring in it. Anyone who knows me is well aware that I’m crazy about this man from the very first moment I saw him during the opening credits of Band of Brothers’ first episode, and since then he has become my… I don’t know what exactly, but he is very special to me. So, when I saw him in White Collar, I started yelling. And when I found out the name of his character I couldn’t help but smile, it was Matthew Keller.

And, last but not least, I’m sure some of you were expecting to see Colby Keller in this list. Actually, he came later, but I’m more than glad to add him to my list!

Meet the Author

Erin is Irish in her heart and soul, and she hopes she’ll move to the Emerald Island one day. She lives with her husband and their cats in a house near a wheat field.

She has been writing for years but admits she is a very undisciplined writer. The problem is that handling a couple of jobs makes it almost impossible to write every day.
