REVIEW:
If you’re looking for a light hearted, funny, low-angst romance Ethan Day’s Sno Ho/Life In Fusion (the two book collection of his Summit City series) delivers everything you could hope for.
The characters are likable and charismatic and have great sexual chemistry. Sno Ho ends in a bit of a cliffy and you’re going to want to delve right into the sequel Life In Fusion to see how it all works out, so I recommend you just plan to read them back to back.
Having been unscrupulously dumped by his wealthy boyfriend, Boone Daniels is left to enjoy their romantic ski vacation by himself. The story opens with Boone waking up in a strange bed, confused and hungover, as he tries to remember the night before. Day does a fantastic job setting up Boone’s character as bits of the night before start to come back to him. He’s funny and sexy and sweet, and my heart went out to him as he ponders why he isn’t more upset by his recent breakup.
So Boone decides to make the best of it and take advantage of the week’s vacation and everything his ex had arranged (and paid for). In keeping with Boone’s consistent good luck, his drunken hookup from the night before turns out to be his ski instructor.
Wade Walker is tall and built and gorgeous - oh, and cocky as hell. He’s always gotten exactly what he wants and winning ten Olympic medals has just added to his huge ego. It also serves to make him cautious of guys who just want to be with him for his fame. Poor Wade is just waiting for Mr. Right to come along, well not idly waiting, but you get the idea.
Newly single (again) Boone is reluctant to get seriously involved in another relationship that’s “all heat and no substance” but as the week goes by, and these two can’t get enough of each other, Boone is forced to do some soul searching and examine his past relationships. He wonders if he was purposely choosing the wrong guys and how much of himself he gave them to begin with.
Boone’s a happy guy, he’s strong and confident with loving parents and great friends. (Even if his friends do call him slutty, he makes no excuses for loving sex and knows he deserves to find love too!) Maybe if he opens his heart and gives Wade a chance, they could make a life together…?
One of the high points of Sno Ho/Life In Fusion for me is Boone’s constantly running inner monologue. He’s hilarious and kept me laughing through the whole book.
I enjoy his expressive description of the little mountain town of Summit City, Colorado. The characters who live in this small skiing village are colorful and big hearted, and the way Day paints the scenes evoke images of an Alpine Mayberry.
The supporting cast is full of interesting characters, especially when we get to meet Boone’s family and friends. They all have so much fun together, and humor permeates this book. The sex is also hot as hell, these two are great together and Ethan Day writes a mighty fine romance (Wade’s dirty talk is spectacular).
Going through this journey with Boone touched me more than I expected.
Writing from Boone’s point-of-view, Ethan Day delves deep into why Boone can’t truly commit to a relationship. We also get to know Wade, how a determined and focused Olympic champion gets what he sets his sights on. If you’re in the mood for a story that’s clever and funny, with scorching hot sex and some sweet and tender feels, then the Summit City series is sure to be right up your alley!

I was the youngest of four children and the only boy, so needless to say, I was spoiled rotten. I’ve always had an extravagant fantasy life. When I played with my Star Wars action figures as a child, I liked to make up my own stories. Naturally, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo were totally meant for each other, and Princess Leia made a bitchin’ wise cracking Fag Hag.
I somehow managed to survive high school living in a small racist town in Southeast Missouri and emerged unscathed, realizing life was too short to pretend to be anything other than who I was. I was the little homo that could…so damn it, I did! It was all very Lifetime Movie Network meets After School Special I assure you.
After a few stints in college, I eventually signed up for a Creative Writing course. I took the class because there were no tests. For once my scholastic laziness paid off, and I found an outlet for all the fantasies running amuck in my head. It was love at first write, and I’ve been doing it off and on ever since.
