About Hearts and Flour

Can a raw food enthusiast find love with a guy who bakes cupcakes?

When Micah Truveen’s devoted health-food customers start showing up with white flour, Micah wants to chew nails! To make his misery worse, he finds his yoga teacher boyfriend in bed with another guy the day before Valentine’s Day. Micah decides to drown his misery at a friend’s anti-Valentine’s Day orgiastic hookup party—and meets the beautiful Queen, a gorgeous cross-dresser who’s got Southern sugah in his mouth and the right equipment under the dress. But when the hookup turns serious, Micah has to compromise to protect Queen’s secrets from his beloved grandmother. With everything against them, can two hearts rise above the flour?

First Edition published by Etopia Press, January 2013.

4 HEART READ

REVIEW:

I have to say Tara Lain has always been a favorite author of mine and this little novelette, Hearts and Flour, has all the best ingredients for a cute and light romance. I was so excited to get a chance to read this book. It is a second edition, the first edition was published by Etopia Press in 2013, and I absolutely love the new cover by Reese Dante.

Micah is passionate about food. Raw, organic food that is. He owns a popular vegan restaurant in Laguna Beach. Quentin is a Southern gentlemen who owns a cupcake bakery not too far from Micah’s restaurant.

This may be a recipe for disaster.

Micah and Quentin meet at an anti-Valentine’s Day party thrown by a good friend of Micah’s. After walking in on his boyfriend with another man, Micah decides he’s got nothing to lose and accepts the invitation.

Quentin likes to dress up in women’s clothes. He rarely gets the chance to so he heads to the party dressed as “Queen”.

I absolutely love stories that involve cross-dressing. Queen doesn’t like labels, he’s just a guy who enjoys dressing up in women’s clothes once in a while. Micah takes one look at Queen and it’s lust at first sight. They find an empty room at the party and have one of the hottest hookups.

Author Tara Lain certainly knows her way around a sex scene. These men’s chemistry is off the charts hot and there is no way Micah is ready to call it a night.

He leaves the party with Queen’s phone number and his world solidly rocked!

For such a short book there’s a lot going on: Quentin has a few secrets, Micah’s ex causes some drama and it’s all written with humor, sass and lots of sex. Tara Lain has a knack for writing great characters and Micah and Quentin are amazing. You definitely won’t be disappointed with Hearts and Flour.

Meet the Author

Tara Lain never met a beautiful boy she didn’t love – at least on paper. A writer of erotic romance, mostly ménage and male/male, Tara loves all her characters, but especially her handsome heroes. A lifelong writer of serious non-fiction, Tara had the first novel she ever wrote accepted for publication in 2011. She’s now on book 27 and counting. After an exotic life of travel all over the world and work in television, education and advertising, Tara settled in Southern California with her soul-mate husband and opened her own small marketing business. She paints, collages, and started practicing yoga “way before it was fashionable”. Passionate about diversity, justice, inclusion and new ideas she says on her tombstone it will read, “Yes”.
