About Daddy, Daddy, and Me

When Jeff agreed to be the sperm donor to his best friend Beth, he never expected a tragedy to leave his newborn and three-year-old motherless. Beth’s loss has totally thrown his life into chaos: his lover has left him, his house isn’t anywhere near childproof, and his boss feels the restaurant has been patient enough with Jeff’s time off.

Donny has always known he wanted to work with kids, and he just finished his degree in early childhood education. He didn’t count on the prejudice he’d face as not only a male nanny, but a gay one at that. Job-hunting has been frustrating to say the least, so when he knocks on Jeff's door and is greeted by the sounds of things breaking and a pair of screaming children, he thinks maybe he can begin this particular interview with a trial by fire.

Becoming the nanny to Jeff's children might be a dream come true for Donny and exactly what Jeff needs, but are either of them ready to really be a family?

5 HEART READ

REVIEW:

Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael is such a sweet story of serendipity and what can happen if you trust - in the universe, a higher power or just each other.

Donny is having a lot of difficulty getting work in his chosen field due to being a man. Let alone a gay man! Child Care is a tough gig when no one will give you a go - despite having great qualifications. So when Donny turns up at Jeff’s door for his last potential interview, he’s got all his fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Poor Jeff just needs a reliable hand to get himself sorted out. Donny just needs someone to give him a go. These two are clearly meant for each other - in more ways than one.

Jeff is at his breaking point. Not only did he lose his best friend in a tragic accident but he is now having to learn to be ‘Daddy’ to his two biological children, in his completely un-childproof house! Jeff’s been used to living how he likes, without having to worry too much about others, except his man - who left at the first sign of children. His whole life is turned upside down and he is nearly crippled when Donny turns up at his door.

Poor Jeff just needs a reliable hand to get himself sorted out. Donny just needs someone to give him a go. These two are clearly meant for each other - in more ways than one. As they learn to trust each other and provide support during a difficult time, love blossoms and passions ignite.

It’s not all easy though as Jeff feels way out of his league with the kids and finding a new way to live, but Donny proves to be more than just a pretty face and a babysitter when he ends up being everything Jeff needs - whether Jeff knows it or not.

This tale is highly awwwww-worthy and the side characters are as good as the main characters! The children provide some good laughs and a sister with very little maternal instincts supplies more than a few chuckles.

Very few M/M books have children as a feature - but this story really relates how valuable all types of love are - family, friends, siblings, lovers and parents.

I am sure Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael will stay with me for a long time due to its sweet telling of a difficult situation and characters who jump right off the page with definition and colour.
