GUEST POST and REVIEW: Sean Michael of 'Daddy, Daddy, and Me'

Thank you to Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter for hosting me today!

While Jeff might be a chef, that doesn’t mean that his kids are going to eat five star food. Let’s face it, most kids don’t like a lot of fancy stuff. There are certain foods kids simply gravitate toward. I know that I certainly did. In fact I thought I’d share a couple of my favorites from childhood.

On our birthdays, my sister and I were allowed to choose any food we wanted for our birthday dinner. My choice was almost always Kentucky Fried Chicken (this was back in the days when it was called Kentucky Fried Chicken and not KFC like it is now.) I just wanted the basics – a couple of drumsticks and some French fries. Maybe a coke to go with it. I did not like the electric green coleslaw (and yet, I’m still sad that the coleslaw no longer comes in electric green). I still really like KFC as a treat now and then, and I still far prefer dark meat to white meat – white meat is far too dry for my liking.

Another favorite of mine was Grandma’s Stuff. She used to make it every time that we went to visit and while my mother got the recipe and made it for us occasionally at home, it never tasted the same. It was cooked elbow macaroni, browned ground beef and a couple cans of tomato soup, and a squirt of ketchup for extra flavor. You mix it altogether and let it simmer lightly for a couple hours and it always tastes even better the next day. To this day I still make this, though I tweak and play with the flavoring, using the parmesan and basil tomato soup that is now available, putting in some Worchestershire sauce and adding a chopped onion in when I’m browning the beef. It makes the best leftovers.

So I’m guessing that while Daddy is a chef, Jeff’s kids don’t always eat very cheffy food ;)

About Daddy, Daddy, and Me

When Jeff agreed to be the sperm donor to his best friend Beth, he never expected a tragedy to leave his newborn and three-year-old motherless. Beth’s loss has totally thrown his life into chaos: his lover has left him, his house isn’t anywhere near childproof, and his boss feels the restaurant has been patient enough with Jeff’s time off.

Donny has always known he wanted to work with kids, and he just finished his degree in early childhood education. He didn’t count on the prejudice he’d face as not only a male nanny, but a gay one at that. Job-hunting has been frustrating to say the least, so when he knocks on Jeff's door and is greeted by the sounds of things breaking and a pair of screaming children, he thinks maybe he can begin this particular interview with a trial by fire.

Becoming the nanny to Jeff's children might be a dream come true for Donny and exactly what Jeff needs, but are either of them ready to really be a family?

Where She Says:

"Very few M/M books have children as a feature - but this story really relates how valuable all types of love are - family, friends, siblings, lovers and parents."
