About Confessions: Robbie

Relationships are complex.

Love ever-changing.

And when it comes to rules of the heart,

they were made to be broken…

That’s what Robert Antonio Bianchi was telling himself, anyway.

Otherwise, he really had no excuse for what—or who—he’d done.

No excuse, except for his lonely heart, a pitcher of margaritas, four Bitter Bitches, and the apparent need to confess all his weaknesses to the two men he knew would bring him nothing but trouble.

But trouble was nothing new.

Just ask his crazy sisters or any of his friends, and they’d be the first to tell you:

If there was a bad decision to be made, Robbie always had a knack for making it.

And thus begins the story of the priest, the princess, and the prick.

5 HEART READ

REVIEW:

I’ve been waiting for this story! The one that hits all the right spots: the sweet and adorable that steals my heart, the charm that captivates my mind and the dominance that leaves me longing to kneel. Ella Frank brings it in spades in this first book in her new Confessions series, Confessions: Robbie.

I didn’t think any characters could captivate me more than Tate and Logan in Frank’s Temptation series, but I actually swooned - swooned - while reading Robbie. Ella Frank made me want all three of these men in my life…in every way!

Leave it to Frank to have Robbie drawn to not only one man, but two. And two married men at that. Oh, and let’s not overlook the fact that he can’t stand one of them. That man being none other than Joel “Priest” Priestley. Attorney Priestley that is. Hells yeah…Frank definitely whips up the delish here. For lovers of Frank’s Temptation series you know who Priest is! If you haven’t read it you’ll be fine but you really should run to it, you have no idea what you’re missing!

I didn’t think any characters could captivate me more than Tate and Logan in Frank’s Temptation series, but I actually swooned - swooned - while reading Robbie.

Priest and his husband, Chef Julien “the Prick” Thornton, have the most wickedly wonderful relationship. Right from the start, in one simple dinner conversation, Ella Frank sets the stage for their devoted, worshipful, loving marriage and…D/s dynamic. I’m not kidding you I was enamored with them in one chapter!

Which really is what I love about Ella Frank’s writing. Her characters are distinct, each one having a unique charm that is completely them. The dialect she chooses for each portrays just exactly who they are. It’s like a child owning the persona of their own name. Add to that the beauty with how she describes things, such as when conveying eye color they’re not blue they’re azure, hair is not brown but caramel highlights. Even how she makes you picture skin, “His skin was a lovely peaches-and-cream tone that made Julien want to lick him to see if he tasted as creamy as he looked.” And her chapter headings in Robbie…OMG, still can’t stop laughing!

Julien and Priest are each other’s yin and yang. Julien, Priest’s voice of reason. Priest, Julien’s guiding support. And when the game is afoot to capture their Princess, Priest reads Robbie like a fiddle playing him beautifully from beginning to end.

Priest and Julien know what they want with Robbie and they romance him with talented ease. I must say Robbie is the best mental foreplay I have ever had the pleasure to read. I was as worked up and vibrating as Robbie. How’s the saying go: capture my mind and my body will follow? Priest definitely has this ground covered.

But this is an Ella Frank novel after all, and with alternating points of view these men’s dance is utter perfection. In Robbie’s words the “sheet-gripping sex” (literally) is off the charts hot! And get your translator ready because Julien’s HAF French, at just the right moments, will have you groaning!

I must say Robbie is the best mental foreplay I have ever had the pleasure to read.

As Robbie finds himself wanting to fall, but fighting what he feels, circumstances cause him to understand what Priest meant when he told him, “’There is a vast difference between wanting someone’s trust so that you can give them all that they need, and wanting someone to change to become the things that you need.’”

Just when Robbie accepts what “everything” means to Priest and Julien - are they ready to confess their secrets for a complete triad of trust? You can foresee a barrier that’s going to need to be broken, that might just test them all, but the foundation has been laid for these men to be each other's support.

I truly found myself not even being able to get through this book without stopping and laughing, even gushing, sometimes gasping – like every other paragraph. Robbie is just so…Robbie! Oh, and his BFF Elliot…he better be getting his man…and soon.

Confessions: Robbie truly is "mon beau voleur de coeurs" as I anxiously await the return of the priest, the princess and the prick. Priest's domineering growl will echo in the recesses of my mind for the foreseeable future. Stoking the flame for more - from him, from Julien and of course, Robbie. It’s one of those books you wish you could read for the first time all over – again!
