About Gummy Bears & Grenades
THIRDS agent Dexter J. Daley can’t wait to marry his fiancé, Team Leader Sloane Brodie, but first he’s looking forward to celebrating his bachelor party—which he intends to be a shenanigans-free evening of getting his groove on with family and friends.
Of course events don’t work out as planned, but for Dex that’s nothing new. One thing is for sure, dodging drug dealers and hired thugs amid booze, dancing—and even a bear costume—will guarantee it’s a night Dex will never forget. Now he just needs to survive all the fun.
Enjoy this bonus story from the THIRDS universe. These events occur between Darkest Hour Before Dawn and Tried & True in the series timeline. While reading this story would enhance your experience of the THIRDS series, it is not essential to read before Tried & True.
REVIEW:
Tucked in between Darkest Hour Before Dawn and Tried & True, Gummy Bears & Grenades is a nice little angst-free present from Charlie Cochet to THIRDS fans. The timing on this one is perfect coming right when we need it the most, and just like the rest of this series these books must be read in order.
Gummy Bears & Grenades is three and a half hours of hilarious! Mark Westfield is at his all time funniest narrating this one, and it was a pleasure to just laugh the whole way through. All the players make an appearance and lay some groundwork for future episodes in the THIRDS series.
I don’t want to give anything away, but there are so many absolutely priceless moments in this one I can’t resist just a few teasers to prick your curiosity. As fans would expect, there are some big surprises in store for Dex at his bachelor party. Hudson is too funny, he gets really drunk and starts over sharing about his love life with Seb (it’s always the quiet ones, right?). We also get some interesting details from Ash on the mating between feral Therians. One of the highlights is when Dex uses his match-making skills on Zach and Austen, I have a feeling their story is next and I can’t wait!
Gummy Bears & Grenades is three and a half hours of hilarious!
There are some sweet, heartfelt revelations mixed in with all the drunken shenanigans. Sloane shares his insecurities and we see just how far he’s come over these past four years. We also get some very interesting information from Austen about his story, which is really sad. And both Sparks and Wolf try to explain their actions, though no one is giving them much sympathy.
Gummy Bears & Grenades is a fun little peek into the lives of my favorite THIRDS agents on their down-time. In the end the guys take the opportunity to reaffirm their vows, to each other, to their family, and to their mission. Life goes on for the THIRDS agents, come what may.
