HOT TOPIC: Indie Author Day 2017

As libraries around the world celebrate the second annual Indie Author Day we here at the Banter thought it would be fun to join in and shine the light on some of the wonderful self-published authors we have discovered through our reading.

Not trying to name drop but if you’re looking to be tempted by male/male authors who give you everything from taboo and BDSM to contemporary and erotic romance, as well as dark and maybe a little sweet, might we recommend Max Vos, Todd Young, S.M. Johnson, Silvia Violet, and Jordan Castillo Price…just to name a few. *winks*

Want more? We thought so. Grab a drink, pull up a chair and keep reading as we highlight some of the indie authors and their books which have touched us since Kimmers’ Erotic Book Banter got its start. May you discover someone new today, happy reading!

Meet TM Smith

A military brat born and raised at Ft. Benning Georgia; TM Smith is an avid reader, reviewer and writer. A Texas transplant, she now calls DFW her home. Most days she can be found curled up with a good book, or ticking away on her next novel. Smith is a single mom of three disturbingly outspoken and decidedly different kids, one of which is Autistic. Besides her writing, she is passionate about Autism advocacy and LGBT rights. Because, seriously people, Love is Love!

Meet Lily Morton

Lily writes contemporary romance novels, and specialises in hot love stories with a good dose of humour.

Lily lives in sunny England with her husband and two children, all of whom claim that they haven’t had a proper conversation with her since she bought her first Kindle.

She has spent her life with her head full of daydreams and decided one day to just sit down and start writing about them. In the process she discovered that she actually loved writing, because how else could she get to spend her time with hot, funny men!

She loves chocolate and Baileys and the best of all creations – chocolate Baileys! Her lifetime’s ambition is to have a bath in peace without being shouted by one of her family. Facebook; Goodreads; Twitter; Amazon

Meet Bruce Rose

When he’s not plotting world domination, Bruce Rose is usually plotting gay romance novels. If he’s not writing hot man-on-man action, you might find him trying out new recipes, listening to old 80s rock, or putting his Star Wars action figures into provocative poses.

Meet Bey Deckard

Born and raised in a small coastal town in northern Québec, Bey spent his early summers on his uncle’s boat and running wild on the beaches of the surrounding islands, lighting fires and building huts out of driftwood and fishermen’s nets. As an adult, he eventually made his way to university and earned a degree in Art History with a strong focus on Anthropology. Primarily a portrait painter and graphic artist, Bey sat down one day and decided to start writing.

Bey currently lives in the wilds of Montréal with his best buddy, a ridiculous, spotty pit bull named Murphy.

Meet Adira August

Addi has chased down bad guys, climbed mountains, searched for dinosaurs and had rather a large number of lovers, though she isn't giving a specific number.

Meet Keira Andrews

If you enjoy reading steamy romances between two men who can’t live without each other, you’ve come to the right place.

After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, fantasy, and paranormal fiction and — although she loves delicious angst along the way — Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said:

“The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”

Meet Tyler May

Tyler May was born and raised in the great state of Michigan, and still happily resides there. She is a stay at home mom to her three beautiful children. Tyler’s passion for reading came later in life when she found a love in romance novels, more specifically the male/male genre. After drawing inspiration from some wonderful authors and encouragement from friends and family; she penned her first full length novel: Angel of Darkness.

Tyler draws inspiration from the simple things in life and will never take that for granted.

Since Tyler is a LBGT author, she has three hopes when a reader picks up her book(s): She hopes that her books will teach tolerance and equality. She hopes to convey the truth behind the infamous saying, “love is love.” She hopes that the book is more than a story―that’s it a journey with an important message. Tyler’s favorite quote and something she always has tucked in the back of her mind as she writes her fictions: “Everything you can imagine is real.”―Picasso.

Meet Joseph Lance Tonlet

Joseph is a born and raised Southern Californian—with a twenty-year stint of living in the Midwest. He loves the laid-back lifestyle of San Diego and considers himself lucky to live where people dream of vacationing. A lifelong reader of m/m fiction, he began his writing career one night sitting at his MacBook and has never looked back. He writes to bring the characters he dreams about to life.

Meet Misha Horne

Misha Horne is an author of deliciously kinky M/M erotica that's often sprinkled liberally with romance. She's drawn to stories of young men discovering their naughty sides and exploring what love, lust, and life have to offer them-- especially when it's not what they expected.

Please expect heavy doses of spanking, dirty talk, explicit sex, and untidy emotion-- among other things. If you like stories where things get heated and stay hot, you're in the right place.

When she's not writing, she's probably reading, complaining about the Red Sox, or being destroyed in Mario Kart by her little brother for the nine zillionth time.
